Facts checked on October 13, 2026, on the Arma Reforger Workshop pages and the tools' own sites. Download counts and ratings show interest, not which units use what. TacOps is the tool this site is about; the comparison names what each tool does, not which is better for you.

When the screenshot is enough
A quick public op with one objective, a unit that plans in the game anyway, or a plan nobody needs to edit. A screenshot in Discord gets that done.
When TacOps pays off
The plan has more than a few units and phases, people read it on different devices, the terrain matters (where can they see us from, how steep is that approach), or you run the same unit on the same maps every week. Open TacOps as a guest, pick the map, and you are planning on the full map with the grid in under a minute. Post the exported image in Discord if that is where your unit reads.
See every tool on the planning tools page, or the in-game mod comparison.
